Family History Trip to South Dakota
I traveled to South Dakota to find out more about my Smith ancestors. I was really hoping to find a picture of my great-great grandfather. As far as I knew, no picture of him existed. I was thrilled to find two pictures (one is below)! I couldn't have found those pictures without going to South Dakota. I had hired researchers in the past who lived there, but they never found the pictures I did. An extra treat was that I was able to put enough information together from residents and documents to find the house that my ancestor lived in (shown in the picture below)! It makes a difference to be there in person, since you know what you're looking for! I can help you know where to look and who to talk to when you travel to learn about your own ancestors.
